I already know there are a lot of Clash of Clans Copycats on the Internet, Google Play Store, and App Store: Jungle Heat, Clash of Lords, Battle Beach, Battle Dragons, Toy Battlefield, etc. But these copycats are all made using a different set of artworks. Check here for a complete list.
What I want to say is: there is a game called War of Clans (Chinese:部落战争) appearing on Weibo.com. Apparently, it is a Chinese version of Clash of Clans that uses all COC’ assets but is built with flash technology and specifically for web.
Ok, my question emerges. Does the developer Supercell work with a Chinese company to launch the browser-based version of COC on Sina Weibo, a Twitter-like microblogging network? Or is War of Clans a Blatant Ripoff of COC?
I do believe this is a blatant theft of “Clash of Clans” because Supercell has never said they were doing a web-based version of COC, not to mention a Chinese COC.
I have been following Clash of CLans for almost a year since its soft-launch in the Canadian App Store. I enjoy playing it because of its simplified, intuitive controls, unique troops designs with unique abilities, sequence animations and sounds, and certainly, the deep strategy that deserves my deep engagement.
At the moment, tens of thousands of players just want to confirm if this is an officially licensed Clash of Clans in China. Please reply or take actions, there are a lot of players paying for Gems now.
