Four years after Worms, the award-winning turn-based strategy game hit iOS, developer Team17 is now planning to bring another new sequel to life. The new sequel titled Worms 3 follow the same mechanics of its predecessors, featuring asynchronous multiplayer matches, strategic playing cards, yet adding some new worm classes and new weapons.

The game will offer a single-player mode with 27 challenging missions across Beach, Spooky, Farmyard and Sewer themes and two multiplayer modes: Forts and Deathmatch. What’s unique is that its multiplayer combat will be asynchronous, granting you to take your time to devise the best strategies.

There will also be a new strategic playing cards feature, which allows gamers to customize a deck out of 41 cards and to buy bronze, silver and gold cards with in-game rewards. These strategic cards can be employed at the start and end of each turn.

Newly added classes include Scientist, Scout, Soldier or Heavy, each with unique skills. New weapons are also noteworthy, which include Nora’s Virus, Black Hole Grenade, Canned Heat.

The game is scheduled to release on iOS only at Q3 2013. Fans of Worms, jot it down somewhere or follow us for more updates.
