First Look: Agents of Storm - Groundbreaking 3D Strategy Battle Island Game

In December 2013, the folks at Remedy Entertainment revealed a new project “Agents of Storm“, a fully 3D rich and detailed game that lets you build your based and battle against islands. It sounds like Supercell’s Boom Beach, which has currently soft-launched in the Canadian Apple Store, but its controls and core gameplay are different from what Boom Beach offers.

In fact, Agents of Storm is superb on every front. First of all, its 3D world is incredibly detailed from waters, mountains and every single piece of fleets. Battle takes place in the waters and it is cinematic. There is much to enjoy in this easy-to-like strategy battler that has great potential to become this year’s smash hit. Read More…

First Look: Dragon Coins - Monster Fighting with Classic Arcade Coins Dropping

Dragon Coins is a new monster fighting game where the player collects monsters and battles against enemies by dropping various types of coins onto the platform. NamcoBandai Games and Sega has just released a new mobile game Gundam Conquest in the Japanese App Store. At its core, the game is a city building and battle game, but it is just dressed up with the skin of “Mobile Suit Gundam“. First Look: Odyssey RPG - Exceedingly Formulaic, But Still Good

Needless to say, there are tons of collectible card games crowded in the App Store. Every week, we could see one or more card-based battle games coming out. They are almost using the same formula - collect cards, build deck, battle enemies and gain rewards. What is slightly different might lie in their artworks.

Today, I am going to introduce a new card building game “Odyssey RPG” from R2games, the publisher of Excalibur: Knights of the King and a handful of browser games such as Wartune, Blade Hunter, Yitien, etc.. Read More…

First Look: Dragon Quest VIII for iOS - Classics Still Classic

I have played many RPGs from Square Enix, but never played any game of Dragon Quest series. So this first look hands-on gameplay video was recorded purely based on a newbie’s perspective.

Dragon Quest VIII for iOS relies heavily on how you advance through the in-game storytelling, that is to say, the main character you control will more often than not interact with NPCs and objects to unravel mysteries. As you can see in the video, I was lost in the game largely because I cannot read Japanese and partly because the game is a bit challenging to solve puzzles facing me. Read More…

WreckMan: Rise of a hero is a humorous Physics-based action game published by Playground Publishing B.V., the publisher responsible for Papa Sangre II. This game is quite different from most other games in the App Store as it allows you to attack enemies on a wrecking ball throughout. During this year’s E3, Ubisoft revealed a couple of new video games and one of them I put on my watchlist is Trials Frontier, which, according to developer RedLynx, is a free to play motocross racing/crashing game for mobile devices.
