If you have heard of Kixeye’s Backyard Monsters or had a chance to play this game, you won’t be new to the whole things delivered by Swarm of the Dead.

Today, Singapore-based OrionArts has announced a new zombie-themed attack game called “Swarm of the Dead”. The game is currently available worldwide on the App Store and will land on Google Play soon.

Zombies have taken over the whole land, but there are still survivors around. Your job is to eliminate the survivors and their strongholds by unleashing swarm of the dead. The game features 9 types of zombie units and over 100 level stages, with comic style graphics. In the game, you will advance through the game by commanding your units to attack human beings and their strongholds.

Rather than use the entire mechanics offered by Backyard Monsters, Swarm of the Dead simply borrows its combat and zombie-themed units while getting rid of village building and multiplayer mode. It is like an offline version of Backyard Monster that only offers single-player campaigns.

Swarm of the Dead is monetized through the sale of Brains and Coins, and in-app promotion of other games. You will consume Brain, which works like energy, to participate in the attack and use Coins to upgrade your units.

If you love the kind of Tower Defense Games, or something about a zombie theme and even touching on Backyard Monsters, you should not miss Swarm of the Dead.
