First Look: Trolls vs Vikings - A Close Imitation of Plants vs. Zombies

Trolls vs Vikings is not the best among all copycats of Plants vs. Zombies, but it’s a close imitation of Plants vs. Zombies that makes you feel it is pretty much similar to Plants vs. Zombies from gameplay, battle pace, variety of monsters, character gestures, and even the day and chapter mode.

Once upon a time, in a peaceful troll village, a young girl name Emma lived with her father and brothers… Every day, she woke to the sweet smell of rock porridge and the sound of her father singing. But today, she’s on a secret mission.

As you imagine, Trolls vs Vikings is a tower defense game in which you will help Emma to place a variety of Trolls on the battlefield that possess different skills to battle against incoming vikings. At the very beginning, the vikings that are getting close to you are not strong and you could quickly get them down. But as the game progresses, you will face a lot of big vikings that are more aggressive. At this time, you will have to adjust your strategy by building more trolls of different skills to balance your strategy.

In Plants vs. Zombies, you grow plants or harvest sun to build more plants to battle zombies, while in Trolls vs Vikings, you will also need to harvest a kind of object to build more trolls. The overall mechanism is not changed, and even the battle pace and the battlefield design are all the same as Plants vs. Zombies has.

I am not sure if Trolls vs Vikings has some problems involving the copyright, but for us gamers, it is just another substitute of Plants vs. Zombies. The game is now in beta and will launch next month.
