Threes!

I’ve had a lot of fun playing Threes! these day. Simple “1+2=3” math, yet extremely addictive. Here I’d like to pay my tribute to the group behind it. They are undoubtedly geniuses, knowing exactly what it takes to get players entertained with real fundamentals. Great job!

Card Wars – Adventure Time

Cartoon Networks’ Card Wars – Adventure Time is a brand new CCG inspired by the Adventure Time episode. It pits you against a CPU-controlled opponent in a series of stages. If you are a big fan of this genre, you might have known that Hearthstone, the much expected CCG from Blizzard, is using pretty much the same format. The game has clinched the No. 1 spot of paid apps on the App Store. Highly recommended that you have a try.

Mad Skills Motocross 2

Three years after the original Mad Skills Motorcross game hit the App Store, its developer saw fit to bring an official sequel to it. The new game introduces new tracks and improved online racing, pushing the stunt motorbike racing fun to a new height. Though it takes a while to get used to the delicate controls, it could be one of the most exciting stunt bike games we’ve ever had.

Royal Revolt 2

How shall we define Royal Revolt 2? A tower defense game? A COC-like strategy game? Maybe both nos. Its base building part might be much reminiscent of that of Clash of Clans. But the invading and defending part are much more exciting than that of COC. And there are a lot of action and skills, which make it even like an role-playing game. Anyway, Royal Revolt 2 is a nice choice for fans of any kind.

FINAL FANTASY VI

Square Enix continues to port its classic FINAL FANTASY series to mobile. FINAL FANTASY VI was first released on Android in January and soared to the top of the charts on Google Play within a week. Then we saw its official launch on iOS early this month. But the result seems not so positive, maybe due to its high tag price of $15.99. That aside, the game is, however, a brilliant remake, with an engrossing story, a wide cast of interesting characters, a deep combat system, a huge open world, and dozens of really memorable scenes.

Bug Heroes 2

Bug Heroes 2, from the creators of Block Fortress and Heroes & Castles, is an excellent blend of adventure, action, strategy, and defensive gameplay! It tasks players to form a squad of two heroes and lead them to fight in action-packed tactical battles. If single player missions are not to satisfy you, this new game provides you also an option to take part in 2v2 MOBA-like competitive & cooperative multiplayer battles.

Broken Sword 5 – the Serpent’s Curse

It’s unbelievable that the Broken Sword franchise has gone through 18 years since the first game in the series launched on PC back in 1996. It’s good to see Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent’s Curse bringing a welcome nostalgic sense of the old games by returning to the series’ 2D roots. However, players without any knowledge of the original game might find hard to suck in much fun out of it.

Tribez and Castlez

The original Tribez game, which was released back in 2012, is still one of the top-charting games on the App Store. Its follower Tribez & Castlez has just launched worldwide on mobile and Facebook. The new game has a much similar gameplay to its predecessor and features well-animated characters, an intriguing story, and building and defending a medieval castle. Tribez fans must take a shot.
